If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably seen the steady increase of more posts having to do with ceramic crafting. Not that its the only thing I do these days, but its just so much fun to style pics of cute shiny things and post them on instagram 😉
Well, last week, my ceramics took a big turn from just casual crafting to serious crafting. I’m now the proud owner of my very own ceramic kiln (it looks a lot like a spaceship). My wonderful parents came for a visit so that my dad could hook up the electrical outlet, and now five kiln loads later, I’m feeling like I’ve got the hang of it.
This is super exciting for me—almost as exciting as owning my first car. Having my very own space to fire ceramics means more experimenting and quicker turnaround time on orders. I love that what started out as just a fun experiment has now become a way for me to explore other ways of mixing my design skills with art and craft.
